Robert Pape and Christian Smith, both 25, found themselves in a Riverside County courthouse charged with triple homicide. Both pled not guilty to the murders of Becky Friedley, her mother Vicki and John Hayward. The two men hardly fit the image of typical defendants. Neither have criminal records.
