The Most Common Complication of a Wile Ostiatomy

A floating toe deformity is the most common complication of wile ostiatomy. It's caused by intrinsic migrating dorsal to the joint and acting as m t p extensors. The complication of recurrence can be caused by persistent plantar plate disfunction. An isolated f t l tonotomy is indicated for a flexible deformity in a diametic patient with tip of toe ulceration, without evidence of infection. A girdle stone procedure and a distal meta tarsal shortening ostiotomy - otherwise known as a while lesser metatarsal ostiotomy- is indicated for claw toe deformity of all four lesser toes.
