Lady Hawkins's Slavery School
Slavery is a hidden history, and it affects every sort of inch of this country. When you're talking about slavery history, people often think you just follow the money. So for example, lady hawkins bequeathed this school after her death with money left in her will. It bears his name through her, because she took his name. It's now on that school. And i feel that that's the wrong way to deal with things. I think addressing history and confronting and looking at it in all its complexities is the only way to come to terms with it rather than suppressing it.
