The History of the French Revolution
The French Revolution officially began on July 14, 1789. The monarchy was ousted from power with the storming of the Bastille and execution of King Louis XVI. Those who refused to give up their land and titles were tortured and killed. Within France, a two-party system grew out of the rebellion, the Girondons and the Jacobins.
