David, the son of zadok, was told to run and bring good tidings. He ran after ahimaaz, but joab said he could not carry them because absalom had been killed. The cushite bowed before joab and ran in his direction as well. David came apace and saw another man running alone; king asked him if he also brings tidings. After a short time they were both able to come to terms with each other's death.
