The first step is noticing when you notice these thoughts. The awareness of what's going on with your thoughts helps you build a foundation to be able to challenge them. We do lean towards the negative if we're not intentionally turning ourselves in a different direction. But you can make some really awesome changes if you start o look at the way you're think, start to notice where it's going sideways and start to challenge your thoughts.
