Eleanor Ramsrouti and Henry's Queen
Eleanor Ramsrouti was far tougher than Henry herself. She actually supported the revolution of 1258 against her husband. And then in 1264, after Henry had been captured at Lewis, she was abroad and she raises an army to invade England. In the end, she runs out of money and no invasion took place. But it's interesting that the attitude to women in politics is commenting on this. Although they fear an invasion by foreigners, are full of praise for the Amazonian exploits of Eleanor in raising the army.
