Writing History in the Early Mediaeval Period

As we move through the mediaeval period. more and more writers are obviously able to rely onon previous works which they may continue or redact, or even employ in their own writing wheres. Eyou you have more writers within these individual monastic communities who have to translate what would have been oral tradition into a first written history of their community. Am, we see a very, perhaps a very different of the written word than we see in earlier centuries.
