Shakespeare - Isn't Shakespeare a Stereotype, but a Realistic Writing?
There are endless layers of culture. It's not modern naturalistic writing, but it is what's called a realistic writing and that's a difference. So there'll be a shepherd and the shepherd will have a version of the classical shepherd in him,. But then Shakespeare will surprise us by little realistic touches which make him more tangible and contemporaries than you would think. In a way, that's what he's doing with the aristocrats as well. You know, Hamlet is the revenge hero, which is the stereotype, who then is not very good at doing revenge. Do you sort of mean, but you have to, the audience knows both?
