The Triumph of Vespasian and Titus Over the Judeans
Vespasian and Titus celebrate a triumph over the Judeans. They do this by pretending that actually Judea wasn't a rebellious province. It's a territory that has been freshly conquered. The memory of it obviously has an incredible significance for the people who become the Jews. A further rebellion under Hadrian essentially results in the destruction of the Judean identity of Judea to the degree that it becomes renamed Palestine. Just as the Judean revolt is foundational for the Flavians, so it becomes foundational for what becomes rabbinical Judaism.
