i wouldn't be surprised if a solar flare knocked out everything, and it actually just made us better. If the electricity's out indefinitely, no one has money, yes? Money becomes obsolete. Gas is probably the most scarce and important thing at that point. And testles are now paper weights. Guns and bullets become pretty important. Americans are just good.
