One surviving charter has an unusually large number of phrases and pieces of vocabulary that are very idiosyncratic. This might be evidence for some one having read the life of king alfred really early on. But in three other charters from nine o four, asse was in the witness list, but he wasn't in the witness lists for this charter. And so the explanation, i think, is that it's because he wasn't a witness for this document,. It's because he was the person writing it; his eryohing particarly interesting or unique about its contents.
