The History of the Blockchain
The problem with all database technology is it's kind of lagged behind the sophistication of our financial instruments. In 2009, we found a way to put this ledger of ownership claims into a distributed cloud that all of humanity can simultaneously watch and keep an eye on. So you understand then that Bitcoin is only one sort of application of this ledger technology. There's so many other applications. And so if you think about it, the history will never be the same because we know what the blockchain looks like, we know what it can do. From now on, it's just a matter of figuring out ever better ways to go about using it.
