Urban intensification aims to increase the quantity of housing stock in New Zealand, often run into brick walls. The reason is that there are a few issues that get people riled up as much as intensification. It's about sightlines, particularly ocean view sightlines and the imposition that it has on those. That on the one side and the other is the impact of having larger numbers of people in a particular location. Is it sustainable long term? Probably not.
