Sally Kohn: Why shouldn't it be illegal to steal material even for a good reason or you know good cause a whistle blowing? She says the Espionage Act is over brought and that at minimum there should be a public interest defense. The way courts have treated it just takes it entirely outside of the First Amendment, she adds. Skelton: I think some degree of protection is appropriate especially involving national security information.
