What Motivated the Western Rebellion?
In 1549 a new prayer book in English replaced the old Latin rights which had been used before. For many people this seems to have been the final straw and that's what triggered the revolt. The trigger for this really is the introduction in the year 1549 of a new prayerbook in English. And I think that was the prime factor in causing the revolt. People are delighted when news begins to spread that this has happened, the surrounding villagers also say they too want nothing to do with this new book.
