Quina and the White Man

Within 10 years of working with the white man, Quina created a power base for himself and had ownership of over 500 cattle. In 1888, he was granted 40,000 acres, most of which he leased. The leases created jobs and wealth for Native Americans and increased Quina's power. He managed to convince the government to help him build a lavish house, which he called Star House.
