I suspect that urban centres probably were the sort of the high point of cross-cultural interaction, because that's where the markets are. I think one thing you could say here is that there is a serious eye to cash crops. And so they've got an eye to the rural hinterland is there to feed the cities with things that they can then trade. So yeah, the cities would have been the big centres for this, absolutely.
