The Legend of John White's Return to Roanoke

In 1590, John White attempts to return to Roanoke to go and resupply the settlers that had been left there in 1587. But when they arrive, they find that the settlers have completely vanished. There are some clues that have been left behind - on one of the trees, they have carved the letters CRO. So he starts to guess that maybe that's where they've gone. They've gone to seek shelter.
