The Importance of Shame in Heterosexual Marriage

I think around 2016 with the MeToo movement and then the election of President Trump, some of the cracks were beginning to show. And I found that I was still carrying a lot of shame around my sexuality. My wife Shelby is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse in a Christian context. So she's carrying that part of her story into our marriage and I'm carrying all this purity culture baggage and she has some of that as well. But yeah, that experience of shame was my half of the equation on why are we here.
