The Battle of Kadesh

The outcome of the battle of Kadesh was a stalemate. Neither the Hittites nor the Egyptians were able to prevail, and really that the status quo that existed before the battle reverted very quickly after the battle. Ramesses uses this to really promote his own kingship throughout the Egyptian Empire. And indeed, if a diplomatic resolution is possible to this long standing conflict between these two kingdoms, that is what happens.
