The History of Tyre
From the Babylonian era to the 13th century, Tyre's been a city that's kind of constantly under siege. Do we get any insight into how this affected the city at all? I mean, hard to say. What's interesting about Tyre is that despite changing hands through multiple empires, it seems to retain a sense of identity as an individual city. But yeah, importance on the global stage certainly declined after successive conquests and as they became absorbed into larger empires.
