The Dying Art of Stock Picking

Bob Greene: Stock picking was always very tough. I don't think it's any tougher than it ever was, but there's more light being shown on that now. He says the analytics are much more readily available to anybody who wants to sit down at Google Finance or Bloomberg Terminal and look at the numbers. The big Kahuna in mutual funds at the time was Dreyfus; they didn't launch their index fund till 1974.
