Is There a Shift in Inheritance?

I was fascinated by the fact that for every generation since Adam up to let's say maybe the late 40s, right? Every human generation prior to that could live off the land. And we're at a point now where we literally don't know how like there would be mass starvation and death if some crisis like the Great Depression were to come along again. Now we have specialized knowledge. We just don't have the knowledge of how to actually provide for ourselves. But hopefully my kids will learn them and they can pass them on to their kids.
