The average small business in the United States, there is 35% survival of the five years. But most people start a new business, assign themselves a probability of 80% or higher to be successful. I don't really think that the advances in behavioral economics and behavioral finance have made much of a dent but very bright scholars are working on it. The near future is going to be a lot of behavioral economics going because manyvery bright scholars are going to the field.
