The Justices Don't Want to Take on More Work
In some cases, m there is relatively eight political reasons for wanting em to do that. So you might think that as the work load of the court expands, you need to add justice in order to handle the work load. That was reards actual pretext. In part there were very significant reforms in the early twentieth century. It gave the court aa great control over its own docket. And so and so we'e completely disconnected any possibility of thinking about work load issues from how many justices there are.
