The Evolution of EMS Response to Active Shooter Hospitals

The response to some sort of an active shooter, hostile event was form a perimeter. Don't let anybody bad get out and wait for SWAT to arrive and go in and fix the problem. After Columbine shootings, law enforcement realized that you can't wait until SWAT gets there. People are inside there, bleeding to death, being killed. And so from there, develop the concept of rescue task force. It's stop, stop the killing, then stop the dying.
