The Book of Numbers

A lot of things that we know from the New Testament are connected to the book of Numbers. Most scholars divide Numbers, the book into three main sections. The first ten chapters are our unit. And everything that takes place in those 10 chapters takes place over a period of about 20 days. So chapter 10, verse 11 through 20, verse 21 covers about a 38 year period in which Israel is wanting in the wilderness.
