The Power of Artifice

The real for Harmon is what things are to themselves. That's the real, and he says that art is a way for us to allow things to be themselves. So when you look at qualities as expressions, you cannot know them. You can't contain them. And so that's why that art indirectly touches things by transmuting their qualities into expressions. This is not Harmon, this is me. But he does give some examples that develop this idea.
