Stablecoins Are Not Worth the Risk
The Republican House of Representatives majority wants to dole out favors to stablecoin issuers, the supposedly durable crypto asset. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies whose prices peg to a reference point and are collateralized in opaque ways. At least two dozen stable coins have failed since their introduction; some quietly and others loudly like Terra. The White House appears to sympathize with that view: In a blog last month, it expressed skepticism towards stable Coins.
