I was just teaching my classes yesterday and had fresh in my mind some of the work that I was reading of yours. So I used a lot of the metaphors in your book on complexity to discuss like, how can you convert the complex into the simple rather than letting it become complicated? And I was wondering if you could just talk a bit about that. Why do we see things as complex and why do we see them as simple? You emphasize that the way in which we view something is a function of the mental models that we bring to the phenomenon. To what extent is the role of the teacher similar to the designer in facilitating this construction of mental models?"
