Lizzie LeBlond: A Biography of Women in Outdoor Sport
The main historical figure in the book is a woman called Lizzie LeBlond, which is a rather sort of wonderful glamorous name. She was also a prolific and groundbreaking photographer. And I can't really express what a jolt it was to me to come across all these photographs by LizzieLeBlond of women racing around sort of ice rinks or climbing up mountains. So that's kind of where the book started, really. It was sort of my desire to find greater representation of the sort of experiences that I was finding in sport.
