If you look at galaxies, there are two flavors. There's galaxies that appear to be like a spherical or elliptical or ellipsoidal ball of billions of stars and their structures held together by self the self gravity of this huge assembly of stars. And each star is orbiting in the combined gravity of all the other ones.
