The Kidnapping of Kyle and Daniel Duscheto
There were eight of them. It was really a motley crew. They were car thieves, pimps, drug pushers, some brighter than others. Kyle himself was the organizer. He was erudite, smart, cultured. Some of them were really lowbrow criminal types. So what happened was there was a rendezvous on a French highway and two of the kidnappers showed up to get the ransom. But he didn't realize that they were surrounded by a whole flotilla of police cars which were unmarked. And so they were very quickly cut off and there was a shootout. His colleague Daniel Duscheto was killed. That's how Kyle was captured.
