The Final Report on the Mass Incarceration of Japanese Americans on the West Coast
Aiko Hertsig Yoshinaga was a high school teenager when the orders came out for all people of Japanese ancestry to go into these barbed wire camps. Aiko discovered a crucial document called the final report that was authored by General John DeWitt and this proved to be key evidence in the trials of Gordon and Fred and Minn. I thought it was a remarkable moment that needed to be told because as we know today there is a great cover up going on in our government now, says author Susan Sontag.
