New York City Tap Water Is Not Midwestern, It's Midwestern
New York City water does not come from the arguably Midwestern half of upstate New York. Watermills were terrible for fish in the rivers, just as hydroelectric power plants are today. The two parts of the world with the magic combination of climate and topography, and access to raw materials for the first industrial revolution share the same name these two places.
