A Brief History of China's Foreign Ministry
On November 8, 1949, everyone moved into the old Dongliyam and building. Joe only permitted party members to serve in his foreign ministry. He picked three men he could trust completely: Wang Xia Xiang, Li Ke Nong, and Zhang Hanfu. Other key foreign ministry people included Wang Bingnan, Xiaoguan Hua, Chen Xia Kang, Ke Bai Nian, Gong Pong, Zhang Wen. By the mid-60s, this number will grow to over 2000. And four committees under Joe ran over 30 institutions.
