The Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham, Alabama
King and the SELC settle on Birmingham for their next big movement in 1963. They feel like Birmingham is the most segregated, the most dangerous city in America. But it wasn't all smooth sailing; a lot of black religious leaders in town are hesitant to get involved. It's not until the movement decides to bring in the children to employ teenagers that it really begins to take off.
