The Relationship Between Agnes Hallam and Her Husband
Agnes hallam is sued for assaulting a woman, who was probably a servant of a man in the town. But when somebody accused her of violence, she says you need speak to my husband. He's not here, so you haven't got a case. And as a result, the case gets dropped and the man gets fined for kind of breaking rules of the court. I think that really demonstrates quite nicely how a lot of women's rolls could be more flexible than what we tend to think win or sort of 20 first century perspectives.
