Most people see busyness as a good thing, but you're arguing that it's a bad thing. I feel sympathetic when people say, oh, I'm just so busy. They're not too bad. It's like someone saying, yeah, I have the flu and they're like, ah, that's terrible. You can only do so much effectively on deep work. Unlike shallow work, which you can fill all your waking hours with. So the balance I see is non-deep work is a necessary evil. Your real satisfaction and pride should come from deep work"
