The FedNow: A Digital Contract for Money

Central bank digital currencies will be fully programmable. They could set it to have full transparency, which of course they will. The only place that you can actually use this is in the major cities where everybody uses cash. But until there's an infrastructure to do the transactions on the back end with central bank digital currency, they're not going to roll it out.
