A mindfulness practice gives you more direct control of being in the present moment on purpose. There are times when we need to be mindful enough to say, wow, I, this, that just happened zoom into the present moment and observe your mind in action. Your brain is a much more powerful entity than what we've ever imagined. And so I think that's just another thing I would emphasize as well.
