The Right Turns on the Supreme Court as a Departure
The right turn on the supreme court is just a return to a classical history of what the supreme court has all about from most of american history. The democratic party in power for most of that long era, after f d r, has the problem that it's dependent on the southern democrats wo block civil rights. And liberals get nestalgic - they become sort of like victorians who knew god was dead, but that they could get him back. I think it would have been better if they'd reflected on why they didn't get very far even at the height of liberal judicial power.
