The Failure of the National Shutdown
On 20th of March, according to employers, 70% of workers across the country went to work. One political commentator said that actually, the failure of the national shutdown was a, quote, humiliation for Malema. From where we're sitting, the shutdown was successful. Nothing was operating. The South African media was at the public transport. How it takes the ranks, at bus ranks, they take the drivers themselves. But do you know that 95% of South Africa is electrified? Do you know that South Africa gets water today? All these examples have given you but they don't," he says.
