C.S. Lewis was known for his prolific writing, but he used to write with a pen dipped in ink. He felt that this slowed him down and forced him to concentrate on what he was doing. His role as Knox for Tutor at Oxford taught students English literature. One student said attending one of the tutorials was like entering an anti-chamber of reputation.
