The Evolution of Play
A roboticist called Hoblipsen designed a robot that had a period to begin with where it just kind of messed around. It turned out that the advantage of that period of play was that then if you cut off robots' leg, it could figure out how to walk even without the leg. That's what we human beings are better at doing than anything else. We're the ones who are really adapted. Sometimes we're adapted to the unknown unknowns,. The unknown unknowns is our environment that we do best in. And there's more and more unknowns as we've gone on in history.
