The Role of Government in Civilized Commerce
Government is an instrument of pre-civilization, it's an instrument of brute force. All modern civilized commerce is based on win-win. I'll give you something, you give me something. It's got to be win-win or nobody would do the deal. But in government, in pre-civilized order, it works entirely differently. There is no win-win, it has always been win-lose,. The government takes, the government conquers throughout history. That's the way it always has been.
