The Importance of Political Relations in Procurement
I would say for every project that I have pursued for my entire professional career has a technical buyer and a political buyer. And if we can satisfy the technical buyer and the politics is going our way, then we have a better chance of succeeding. So it's important to have good relations with the politicians? Yes. We need 800 thousand new units of housing in New York over the next 10 years. But there's pressure. You know, what they have in the RFP. It might be that the affordable housing is going somewhere else. There's not a lot of amenities on 11th Avenue by Javits. It's like wasteland.
