The earliest account is from the reign of augustus, so it's only about 30 odd years later. Niclaus of damascus e us, trying to get back into augustu's good books when he writes it. Then we have suetonius, who is writing under the emperor hadrian. And plutarch is a little bit later, about 200 ish, who writes biographies.
