John Sutter: Minimum wage is a philosophical issue that many of us feel strong about. He says millennials are pricing themselves out of experience because they're so worried about getting the highest dollar for their work. Economists have studied the effects that minimum wages have on young workers' long run income and employment prospects, he says. The evidence indicates that even as individuals reach their late 20s, they work less and earn less the longer they were exposed to a higher minimum wage, especially as a teenager,. From a policy perspective, these longer run effects of minimum wages are likely more significant said Sutter.
